THE VENUE

Leonard Lake Reserve, Redwood Valley, CA

Think Dirty Dancing meets old timey summer camp meets 6th grade science sleepaway (iykyk). If you know us (which you do, duh), you know that we love the outdoors, we love games, and we generally enjoy a good weekend of shennanigans with our family and friends. We always dreamt about our someday wedding being by a lake, in the woods, with all our favorite people for a whole dang weekend. We did it, we’re doing it, Leonard Lake is the place! We can’t wait to share it with you.

THE WEEKEND

Friday through Monday, July 21st -24th

Leonard Lake is quite remote, and we recommend you plan to stay onsite from Friday through at least Sunday. Because of said remoteness, (it is a roughly two and a half hour round trip to the nearest grocery store), we’ll be providing food and beverage for the whole weekend. That said, if you have specific dietary needs, or have a favorite snack or drink you can’t live without, please plan to bring it. There are communal kitchens in all the cabins. More information on what to bring (and what not to bring) will be available on our FAQ page soon. Here’s a rough plan for the weekend:

FRIDAY: Check in is from 4 - 5pm. Get your bunk assignments, check out your cabin, and meet us at the Big House at 6pm for camp orientation, welcome dinner and games.

SATURDAY: Hike, swim, kayak, read, chill, or, if you’ve been tapped, help us prep. Ceremony will be in the mid-afternoon, to be followed by cocktails, dinner, and live entertainment from one of the region’s most popular acts.

SUNDAY: Brunch, wedding olympics, awards, and a movie night on the lawn.

MONDAY: Grab a hug and a to-go breakfast. Check out by10.

FOOD & LODGING

Something for everyone (who’s not picky).

Listen, we like luxury as much as the next person, but fair warning, this isn’t that weekend. It will be packed with charm, laughs, happy tears, and moderately comfortable beds. Everyone will have a cozy place to sleep, with freshly washed sheets, warm showers, flush toilets and wifi. As mentioned, all cabins have full kitchens and we’ll be providing all of the big 3 meals of the day. (Sorry no second breakfast, but…maybe actually?). Please take a moment to fill out our RSVP and lodging questionnaire here.

GETTING THERE

It takes longer than you think.

Have we scared you off with the remoteness? No! Don’t be scared! It’s worth it, we promise! We just want you to know what you’re getting into. (A really good time, that’s what).

From San Francisco

Take 101 North to Ukiah. Ukiah is the last stop for provisions and it has all the things. Approximately 10 miles north of Ukiah, turn left off 101N onto to Reeves Canyon Road.

From Nevada County

Take Hwy 20 West towards the coast. When you hit 101, consider whether you’d like to stop and pee, get some in-n-out, pick up that snack or drink you can’t live without, etc. Ukiah is ~10 miles south on 101, and it’s the last stop for grocery stores for the rest of the weekend! From Ukiah, get back on 101 North towards Willits. If you decided not to make the detour to Ukiah, just merge onto 101 North towards Willits from Hwy 20. In about 3.5 miles turn left off 101N onto to Reeves Canyon Road.

On Reeves Canyon Road

Reeves Canyon Road is a stunning 9 mile unpaved stretch through rolling oak savanna and on into the great redwoods. It’s very slow going, and there’s no cell service, but it’s beautiful. There are very few decision points on the road (it dead ends into the lake!), but in the weeks before the wedding we will send an illustrated map of this section of the journey along with a gate code to enter the reserve.

WE LOVE YOU!
